  • (07|05|12) [AAR: Event: "Family Roots/Issues"]

    Planet: Corellia
Formation Size: N/A (No formation, just a gathering)
Troops in Formation: Recruits Ryland and Golryn, Troopers Thesos and Tai, Sergeant K'rell
Areas Patrolled: Uptown (Antechilles Residence), Gowix Tower via Axial Park South, Black Hole Sector (Antechilles Corporation)
Enemy Encountered: Unknown sniper, sent by Imperial Intelligence, hired by codename "Rajer" - Two of Thesos' neighbors, of which one became a casualty
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: Malone (Dead Star Company, friendly Imperial), one friendly neighbor, Blindshot (Miralukan gunslinger, former Green Jedi)
Positive Points: Thesos has discovered what his father really does. Now he has to unravel the rest of the mystery. First steps taken in the saga. Everybody else made points/counterpoints. Tried to involve others as much as possible
Negative Points: Healers can't take out snipers very well! Other than that, felt I didn't do enough to involve others, was very linear, not very great with dialogue when acting as both Thesos and NPCs. Needed more people to play parts, but was managed.

Acting on a lead, Thesos traveled from the Republic Fleet to Corellia. He sent out a call to arms via Command, but only recruits Ryland and Golryn made an appearance. Ryland had issues that arose, so he was unable to stay. Golryn stayed through out parts 1 and 2, but had to leave shortly after the sniper attack. Trooper Tai and Sergeant K'rell were able to make it to part 3, and were instrumental in concluding chapter one. Imperial Malone was present throughout the entire story arc.

Below is a summary of what happened.

    Part 1:

Thesos arrived at his home with Golryn and Malone (see above) only to find the front door locked down tight. As Thesos contemplated what to do, two neighbors approached him with taunts and insults. Thesos tried to remain calm despite their attacks, but his temper eventually rose to a point where he pulled his rifle on them after insults about his family came. He warned them to back off, which the first neighbor complied to. However, neighbor two pressed his luck, calling Thesos' father a Sith. Thesos responded in kind with a shot between the eyes, and neighbor two crumbled on the ground. Neighbor 1 fled, as Thesos calmed down. Behind him, a third neighbor approached, and despite the corpse on the ground, was delighted to see Thesos. She did not know where Thesos' father was, but she did know where his business partner, Blindshot, was. At this point, Malone noted that she had something to do (part of the RP, I needed a sniper, so she performed the role. The two are considered separate.)

    Part 2:

Thesos and Golryn departed for Axial Park, where they sped down to the Corellian Spaceship Museum, and they took the elevator to the rooftop to board a shuttle. After inspecting the craft and noting that it had Imperial markings, Thesos deemed the craft safe after many scans. They arrived at Gowix Corporation unharmed, and after securing the shuttle bay and sweeping for bugs, they stared out the windows at the Corellian architectural achievement, where Thesos shared stories to his Corescantian companion. Afterwards, they approached a computer, where they met up with Blindshot, a Miralukan who tends to dress up as a nerfboy. Once a Green Jedi, Blindshot shed his sabers for blasters, and this turned out to be a profitable move on his part. Blindshot directed Thesos to the Antechilles building to find a black box with gold markings, which would lead to more answers. As the conversation was going on, an unknown sniper shot Golryn in the back of his shoulder, knocking him out of commission. Thesos responded with a flurry of fire, so much to the point where the sniper surrendered. Thesos began to interrogate, asking who the hell sent the agent. She refused, and Thesos used the barrel of his cannon to knock some words out of her. Thesos, unable to get answers by simply pointing a gun, switched to jabs and melee. Eventually, the sniper let slip that Rajer, of Imperial Intelligence, had hired her to "stop him, at any cost." Thesos, visibly shaken by that name (see personnel file, Rajer and Thesos have a history in the field), orders Golryn to patch her up, spare her some creds, and send her back to Rajer with a message, instead of executing her. Golryn expressed his disappointment, to which Thesos explained that they were not murderers. Though an Imperial, she was no threat and unarmed, and the Republic does not execute prisoners of war. With nobody around to take her in, there was no choice but to let her go. Thesos returned to the holocall, where Blindshot more or less confirmed that Thesos' father was involved with the Force, as Rajer deals with Force-related material. Thesos then dismissed Golryn, stating that the Black Hole sector was much too dangerous for the young recruit, to which Golryn reluctantly agreed. (He had things to do anyway)

    Part 3:

Sergeant K'rell and Trooper Tai had landed at the Black Hole just as Thesos did. Thesos explained the situation to them, and he left to give Malone safe passage (Deep Republic Territory. Some Republic players hassled her, I escorted)

Thesos asked his companions to spread out and look for anything Jedi/Sith related. Tai found a lightsaber hilt, bearing strange markings on them. The crystal was removed, but a little red residue remained. K'rell found the black box, and though he picked it up unharmed, he did have a ringing sensation as he held it. Malone found Tyrone's (Thesos' father) desk, which she attempted to open. She managed to fall over in the attempt, sending papers* everywhere. Thesos picked up several sheets and read what was on them; expenditures, day to day contacts, crystal procurement, and most importantly, incriminating papers suggesting Tyrone was a Sith. Thesos tried to make sense of it all, and he asked K'rell to hand him the black box. As soon as he touched it, his mind was flooded with images. His father, originally a Green Jedi, had joined the Sith to spare his family. His mother, a Zeltron, did the same, though she willingly joined as she had no connection to Corellia. Tyrone tried to spend time with the kids, but he was constantly sent on Sith missions. The mother simply just abandoned the attempts, enjoying the party scene as a Sith more than the responsibility of being a mother.

Thesos collapsed after seeing all this knowledge, much to the concern of his companions. He picked himself up without any further issue, and explained that the black box reacted to his touch uniquely due to a force-connection. Only a Jedi or Sith could tune a holocron such as that to react to a single person's touch. That person had to be force-sensitive for it to work, otherwise he/she could not and would not hear anything. Thesos confirmed that he was sensitive, and further suggested that K'rell might have to check himself out, if he heard ringing. After asking Tai to see that hilt again, Thesos ran over to the desk and sought a holograph displaying his family. There, on his dad's belt, was the same hilt, confirming the visions. Thesos took a few steps back, visibly shaken. He stammered to find the right words, "My dad.... my dad is.. a Sith." Tai tried to ease the tensions by saying my dad's sins were not my own, which Thesos appreciated very much. Thesos asked the sergeant for advice, to which K'rell advised Thesos to talk to the Lieutenant about it, as it could be compromising otherwise. Thesos then recieved a message from Rajer, the agent who hired the merc to kill him. He arranged a meeting, but Thesos was not to attend due to various reasons. He directed Thesos to send men in his stead, to which both K'rell and Tai agreed. The meeting place would be the next week at the Nar Shaddaa cantina.

The event concluded. I'd like to thank everybody for coming out to help. I know it was a tough time, since Ashren had a raid going on in KP. I'll have to figure out a better time for next week's event (Chapter 2). I'm looking at Tuesday, just a little earlier (as people were falling asleep). Chapter 3 will not occur until paid transfers become available, so we're looking at >month down the line for that.

Once again, thank you for coming out tonight. Hopefully more people can come out on Tuesday
