Contact Report
Enemy Encountered: Total 11-13 contacts - <Clan Kelborn> (2-3), <Imperial Legion> (4-5), <The Unchained Legion> (2-3), 2-3 more from unconfirmed guilds.
Friendly/Neutral Encountered: Gerome and two others from <Purification of The Damned>
Contact Summary: At 21:00hrs EST, Specialist Kev was conducting a routine patrol of the Dune Sea area when he was assaulted by later confirmed Imperial Hostiles. A CTA was put out and a team of five Alpha Company troopers was intially assembled to secure the area. Once outside outpost Zaroshe, "negations" ensued between the presumed leader of the opposition and Lt. Neves. This leader insisted that Specialist Kev opened fire first without just cause, however Lt. Neves was unwilling to take the word of a complete stranger without substantial evidence. Starting at about six enemy contacts, more and more slowly dripped into the gathering behind the leader as the Lt. continued to try and resolve the situation without bloodshed. Just as the team was preparing to leave the area after determining it safe for Republic citizens once more, they were attacked. Only able to down about half of the larger enemy force, Lt. Neves regrouped with his team at Outpost Thorazan to prepare for an impeding assault. Once intell trickled in that the enemy force had grown to about eleven-thirteen hostiles, Lt. Neves and the troopers of Alpha Company dug in. Just in time however, a separate team of two troopers reinforced the defenders and brought them up to squad strength. A group of Mandalorians arrived in front of the main force to bring a message to the besieged troopers, "Prepare for battle friends." The Lieutenant responded, "Fair enough, prepare to die." And walked off. Moments later the entire enemy force arrived and threw its weight against the defenders. Hard pressed, Alpha Company stood strong and threw the assault back. Once more the attackers attempted to wipe out the troopers, and once more they failed. As the enemy gathered on the hill overlooking Thorazan for a third assault, their leader (Mallim) walked out. Lt. Neves walked out to address the troopers. He said, "Please surrender, we outnumber you." The troopers scoffed and ask "What's new?" Again the enemy was defeated after hard fighting. Once more they returned however this time they came with a different message. They were no longer after our outpost, but for our blood. They asked that we not cower behind our defenses and meet them on the open field of battle. The Lt. irritated at their taunts against his troopers' honor, decided to agree and meet the enemy at Outlaw's Den. The squad linked up at Outpost Salara before pushing into the Den, however Lt. Neves ordered them to hold for a few minutes... he had one more trick up his sleeve.
Knowing the enemy would assume he would come with his seven troopers from before, Neves decided to make a play on that to his advantage. He had his men standby as four more troopers fresh from a separate mission flew in to reinforce the squad. Now with nearly the same number as the larger enemy force, Lt. Neves was ready to make his move. With Cpl. Junlar and Malachai screening the formation's advance, they pushed forward. Ghost Squad reported back that about half the enemy force had gathered, while the other half were just around the corner. Unwilling to allow them to link up, Lt. Neves ordered the attack and wiped out the first group of hostiles. Just then the second group rounded the corner and entered the fray, but it was too late. They too were defeated, and retreated 50m to the south, giving Alpha Company the northern entrance and the highground. Using mixed unit tactics, Cpl. Jettster and his pull team efficiently pulled in one target after another as they focused fire and chipped away at the enemy's numbers. After several firefights and after sustaining only two wounded, Alpha Company moved up. The troopers cornered the enemy with their backs to a building and slaughtered them. After clearing all hostiles, they moved to secure the southern Imperial entrance to the Den and set up a choke point. Another Sith attempted to negotiate with the Lt. But Neves would have none of it, he was tired of only talking when it benefited his enemy... he made it clear to the enemy it was time for them to disperse, or die. An effective mortar volley broke the back of the enemy, the vanguards then rushed in to add more area of effect damage to the enemy. From there, the troopers picked off and cleared any remaining contacts. (It is worth noting that at this time <Purification of the Damned> starting attacking the Imperials as well). The Sith from before insulted the troopers after his force's defeat. He asked for single combat with Lt. Neves. Lt. Neves was more than upset with this Sith... first they insult his troopers' discipline for fighting, then he insults them for defending their own base when outnumbered, now he insults them for meeting his forces on the open field as he requested... now the Sith is looking for one last test to redeem himself, in single combat with the leader of these troopers. The Lt. was eager to put the Sith in the dirt and agreed. Neves ordered his troopers to back down and give the pair some room to fight. A battle ensued and Lt. Neves soundly defeated this arrogant Sith. With their leader there dead in the sand, the remaining Imperial opposition disbanded.
Lt. Neves the formed the company up, commended them on their hard and well fought battle, and dismissed them.
Positive Points:
• We successfully defended Thorazan against three Imperial attacks, then proceeded to meet them in Outlaw's Den where we slaughtered them repeatedly.
• Good coordination between troopers, and adherence to orders led to tactics being efficiently employed, playing a huge factor in the victory.
• In the face of superior numbers, the troopers held firm and did not lose their will to fight. Uniting, and fighting as one, they were able to once again reinforce Alpha Company's image as an elite fighting unit.
Negative Points:
• Initial talks served only for the enemy to gain numbers on us before they attacked, causing our only defeat during the entire engagement.
• Imperial unwillingness to back down after being defeated multiple times, even after Alpha Company offered them the chance to live is they disbanded.
Overall Assessment and Recommendation: We came together and were able to defeat a larger enemy due to our organization. Everyone did and outstanding job listening to order given by myself and the NCOs, this is how WPvP is done! You all employed tactics effectively, and I have nothing negative to say about your performance at all! My recommendation is to continue to train our troopers to this standard of efficiency, and continue to update them with top of the line gear (Yes I mean wz and get 2018 expertise. Imagine how much smoother it would have been!)
