    Contact Report

    Enemy Encountered: <Vestige of Despair>, <Order of the Sith'ari>, <Wrath>, <Esoteric Order>, <Prevailing Darkness>, <Sith'ari Templar>, <The Brotherhood of Darkness>, <Chronic Insanity>, <Scions of Sith'ari>, <Fear Remains Eternal>, <Clan Epsis>, <The Goon Squad>, <Clan Adenn>, and one or two unaffiliated hostiles.

    Friendly/Neutral Encountered: None

Contact Summary: At 20:00hrs EDT. Alpha Company formed a platoon sized force to conduct combat operations within Section X on Belsavis. Imperial aggression was growing past the comfort zone of the planetary commander, and he called into division H.Q. for assistance. Once formed up, the company was briefed on their mission: To locate and eliminate all pockets of Imperial hostiles who remained in the area. The company moved out with Ghost Squad screening their advance and an advance team to reinforce if needed. As the company advanced, they cleared small teams of Imperials. Finally they approached Outpost Crag. 1st Sgt. Ricky led the company to a hill overlooking the outpost and Lt. Neves planned and enforced a cordon. No Imperials were permitted in or out for the duration of two hours. During this engagement, the Imperial forces constantly struggled to penetrate our lines. However, our superior discipline and firepower held the line firm. Through excellent battle command, use of terrain, and adherence to orders, we held the Imperials until they decided to negotiate. Negotiations with Clan Adenn fell short when they were interrupted by an freelance Imperial assailant. The company then attempted to retake the hill after engaging a reinforcing force. The attempt failed however after taking heavy fire from both the Imperial group and their turret emplacements. The company was forced to fallback and regroup in order to reengage.

Now on the defensive, the company moved to engage the enemy while they were en-route to assault the Republic base. Once Ghost Squad got eyes on, the company completed a successful flanking maneuver and hit the enemy force from the rear. Alpha Company pushed through the besieging force and began clearing contacts left and right as they mopped up. The company was then ordered to dig in, one squad responsible for the Western flank, and the other responsible for the Eastern flank. The enemy came one more time to be repelled by our squads in their entrenched positions. Once the enemy was defeated, Lt. Neves decided the battle had worn on long enough. The mission had been completed and Imperial operations in the area were crippled.

The company was then formed up, debriefed, and dismissed by the Major.

    Positive Points:
    • Larger turnout than expected, you all impressed me!
    • Good implementation of various tactics and calls for fire.
    • Change of location for WPvP. Even though the event didn't happen, we still brought the Imps to the slaughterhouse.
    • For many of the troopers, this was their first time out in combat operations. From what I was told, they were all impressed and enjoyed their first taste of Alpha Company WPvP. Congrats on your baptism by fire.
    • Our first skirmish with <Clan Adenn>. While neither force brought it's full strength, we were able to test our enemy as they did us. We were victorious, though I don't consider it a true victory against them until both forces meet with equal strength.
    Negative Points:
    • No Republic support, and limited opposition which took an hour to poke and prod into action. (Due to event cancellation <Remnants of Hope>).
    • With having so many new troopers out on their first run with us was great, it was also a detriment to our strength. Our force was maybe 75% combat effective at best due to lvl/gear gaps.
    • Along with lvl/gear gaps from the new troopers. Mumble was jumbled with chatter more than needed, and Troopers/Specialists where speaking in the heat of battle. While other's input is valued, and sometimes a second view is what is needed to tackle a task... in the middle of a heated battle while orders are already being issued is not the appropriate time.
    • Also, some orders were slowly followed as some troopers did not understand them or respond quickly enough.
Overall Assessment and Recommendation: Even though <Remnants of Hope> had to postpone the event, we were able to draw out a sizable Imperial force to fight. The change of location allowed for a varied use of tactics and a break from the monotony of Tatooine battles. While the new troopers hindered us from being 100% combat effective, it is no fault of theirs. The gear/lvl gap and experience will be gained as their time in Alpha Company continues and we train them to our standards. My recommendation is to continue to train our new batch of fresh troopers to the standard of Alpha Company. Help them level and acquire their gear, while training them in personal combat and WPvP tactics. With this effort, I believe our strength as a unit will dramatically increase. In addition, we must keep a careful eye on <Clan Adenn>. It is known that their primary goal is WPvP through any means such as ganking lowbies or assaulting bases. They seem a capable foe, and are worth our attention on the field of battle. I suggest we carefully observe our new opponent and devise a plan to deal with them accordingly.
