    Division of the Republic Army
    After Action Report

    Unit Information
    Unit: 203rd REL "Alpha Company"
    C.O.: Major Qorbin Oca

    Deployment Report
    Planet: Tatooine
    Formation Size: 10
    Troops in Formation:

    Sgt. Kontraz, Æris
Trp. Ben'airu, Marcelus, Shovak, Kjvago, Trinix, Kiirc, Jaxin
    Rcr. Morales
    Jedi
    Areas Patrolled: Czerka Base
    Initial Contact: 21:00 est

    Contact Report
    Enemy Encountered: 8-14 (various times)
    <Shadows of Chaos>, <Exo Imperium>
    Friendly/Neutral Encountered: Jaecar <House Kil'ndar>
    Names, Guilds of Merit
    Question <Exo Imperium>
    Contact Summary:
We received word that <Shadows of Chaos> were planting exposives in the Czerka Dig Site. We took the Imperials prisoner and were going to have them defuse the bombs, but <Exo Imperium> interfered, allowing the prisoners to escape. We were still able to disarm the bombs, but not without more prior and following our mission objective, resulting in a number of small battles. After the mission was complete, "Question" of <Exo Imperium> claimed that we were afraid to fight on even terms, a challenge which I answered with a proposal for a one on one fight. I was not victorious.

    Post Operation Assessment
    Positive Points:
    • Great Job staying in character
    • We were coordinated, so any of our larger battles were completely one-sided, despite only having a 1-man advantage for the last.
Negative Points:[LIST][*] We have to get better at not firing when ordered not to. Yes, we can see there is a level 30 guy firing lightning at you. It won't hurt.[*] I still need to work on my 1v1 skills obviously
    Recommendations:
    • Keep up the good work

You beat him in the first fight outright, I'm still not sure why you stopped and fought a second time with your cd's blown.

As well- they keep claiming 'even' terms... yet at the point we faced them we were basically on the same grounds for numbers wise. They are the ones who attacked the two lone members that were escorting the sniper first with overwhelming numbers.

Yeah, for them 'even' means the odds stacked in their favor.

Honor your opponent, for without him you have no glory.

I have had just about enough of this calling cease fire in the middle of a battle, skirmish or whatever, for instance last night I had a lvl 50 jug and a lvl 50 Assassin on me and was told to stop fighting them..in a word no....lets make that HELL NO will I stop defending myself.

It doesn't make sense tactically in both PvP and RP (Alpha Company is supposed to be a military unit fighting the Empire remember) to just stop fighting because someone has either lost situational awareness or wants to play nice with the bad guys, once combat has engaged RP is pretty much out the window,I know Rux had stressed this on several occasions so get a frigging grip out there.

I understand your frustration, but unfortunately things are very... let's just say "fickle". We are on the lowest population server. I log in at night and some servers are on high, and once I saw Pot5 on Full, and we are still on light. That means that we don't really get to play by our own rules. I'm not simply going to hand over a victory to the enemy, but at the same time we have to learn to take a few hard hits to keep them playing.

As far as "RP is pretty muchout the window" - that is absolutely completely 100% false. In my opinion, we are never to simply throw RP out the window. I know I rolled on an RP PvP server because I favor RP. I love PvP, but I'd prefer solid RP any day than PvP. I understand that might not be the case with everyone, and I won't attempt to impiose my personal preference on anyone else. However, what I am doing my best to do is get a solid feel for every encounter and figure out to what degree our enemy is wanting to RP vs PvP.

I'll use Thursday night as an example. We went to Belsavis with the intent of RPing. We found RP in 2 of our 3 encounters. We attempted to RP with the first, but he seemed adament on just fighting, so we fought and moved on. Then we got called into Tatooine and found pure PvP. Lines had been drawn and it was just a firefight. No need to even attempt RP in that situation.

Last night was more of a grey area. We had the first group, which was obviously there just to RP, but then we had the second group enter. Considering they are the reformed <Chaos and Disorder> they are not only very willing to PvP with us, but they also enjoy having their own RP storylines. So while they might have entered with the intent of PvP, once they saw RP was involved they adapted to it.

As far as having 2 level 50s wailing on you after we had given you an order not to fire, I give you my apologies. In all fairness, though, they could have been told the same thing (IE- stop attacking). At that time, we still had them outnumbered, outgeared, and you had a healer in your vicinity to keep you going should you need it. This is also a reason to use mumble. Instead of just keeping the fight going and drawing more into it, say "I have a level 50 juggernaut and a level 50 assassin on me". I promise, I can respond better to that than just seeing random enemies being attacked out of the corner of my screen.

However, the bottom line is still this - if you are given an order, it is not to be obeyed simply at your discression. Even in basic, we stress that you do not get out of formation or fire at an enemy unless specifically ordered to do so. This isn't just for the RP fun of basic, but because it keeps things organized. If you recall there were PLENTY of times that I wanted to waste their entire group, but I had to choose not to. Self control is a must.

If you disobey a direct order from a superior officer, there will be consequences. This is ALPHA COMPANY. Not some random RP guild who does whatever they feel like that week or that day or give in to the band wagon. We are DISCIPLINED soldiers who will not falter to the pathetic whims of the Imperials. We are the HEART of the Republic who show up when no one else does. We RESPOND when no one else does and we will KEEP on showing up even if we DIE a thousand times over. You carry with you a sign. It says "Alpha Company". When you act, you do not act alone. You act with ALL of our signs, and you will act accordingly. I will stand in formation and let them kill me if that is my order. THEN, I will respawn and STAND IN FORMATION. We are different, that is why we get flak from everyone. We will continue to take flak because of who we are and what we represent. It doesn't matter if you "win" your little encounter. That will just give them more ammunition for them to spew forth from their Wambulances. Turn your frustration into strength, because you are not alone. Let them come. Let them see that they can't break us. Let them think they can attack us without recourse. I promise you, they will KNOW when we respond. Because it won't be one encounter or two or three, it will be a WAR. It won't be just me, or you, or two of us or three of us, it will BE ALL OF US. We fight as ONE.
